Marti, 24, Boston
Saturday was a fun day full of Boston tourism! Tommy (
Oh, and the photos change in size halfway through. I decided I liked the larger size better. Just deal with it, please.

Wakey wakey time! I set my alarm early in case Tommy was coming in on the 9:30 train.

Check mah e-mails on the iPod to see if Tommy has e-mailed about what time he's coming into town today. he hasn't.

Because there's no news, I decide to lounge around for a while.

Eventually it's time for a shower. I'm pretty sure my neighbors can watch me showering... Awesome? Maybe not.

Parfum my body.

I called Tommy to see if he was coming in at 9:30 and woke him up. Oops? Obviously time to play on the Internet.

Check my usual sites, including the blog of the curator at Hallwalls back home in Buffalo.

Tommy calls to say he's hitching a ride with someone into town. Shit! Time! Not enough!

Okay, maybe enough time to wash dishes.

Eat some oatmeal...

And take a vitamin in order to stay healthy!

Pack my bag for the day with everything I need - cookies, an apple, Boston books, keys, phone, another book, etc.

I don't have a full length mirror, so if I want to see how I look, I have to balance on my roommates' bathtub.

The view waiting for the trolley/tram/T/whatever that thing is.

Found Tommy on Boston Common!

We go to the Old Granary Cemetery and see some cool dead people like Paul Revere and Sam Adams and Benjamin Franklin and others.

Speaking of Sam Adams!! Time for the brewery tour!

Tommy: "He's poking me in the ribs!"

Sam Adams + Marti V. = BFFs!

Free samples - love it!

I may have been a little tipsy and may have thought a naked David was funny...

whereas Tommy really liked the dogs at this funky little gallery.

We headed back into the city for more tourism, including these statues celebrating immigration and not the Potato Famine, for sure.

City Hall. Seriously maybe the ugliest building ever. Fanueil Hall in the background.

Down to the harbor for some dock walking! Coming from Buffalo, we need some contact with a large body of water...

Look! It's Christina! We go to school together and randomly ran into each other on the street. Too funny.

We meet up with a few other friends of mine for supper... I love how my camera apparently can't focus fast enough to take non-blurry photos while I'm walking. Rude.

Most of the dinner crew - Natalie, Dave, Chris, and Grecia...

Then we go see Watchmen, which could have been like a half hour shorter. Overall enjoyable, though. Oh, that's another friend named Chris.

You obviously can't see in this photo, but we had just chased down the sound of bagpipes to find a group of guys playing outside the bars near Quincy Market. So random but so Boston.

I seriously can't remember who this man was. Maybe the guy who founded the Celtics? No one wanted to pose with him, which I thought was kind of rude.

Goodness! Tommy has like the same size foot as Larry Bird! I do not. Thank God.

Head back down to the harbor where we find the arbor all lit up. Super pretty!

We decide to park it at a sushi restaurant and get drinks.

Well, Tommy and I do. Everyone else is a square.

Tommy's cartoon map. Maybe not as helpful as one might have hoped.

I was exhausted, so I went home soon after. Last computer check of the night with some tunes.

My landlord doesn't think that painting is super important. Whatever. It adds character.

I had gotten really dehydrated during the day, making my lips chapped, so it's time for peppermint ChapStick! Mmmmm...

Plug in my phone and unplug my computer (Save the polar bears!)

Lock my door so no drunk roommates or roommate friends come and harass me during the night.

Last time check before sleep - 12:33 and alarm set for 10:00.

Make sure I have enough water for sleepy-times.

Night!

PS Tommy kind of looks like Paul Wylie (http://www.leahadams.com/images/paulwy

Thanks! When it's plugged in it shows the time on the ceiling and sets itself by the atomic clock in Colorado, which is kind of nifty.
He kind of does! Weird!

I didn't used to, but ever since I've moved here, I really need it. I think my room can just get really hot at night, so I kind of need it. It's frustrating to wake up in middle of the night thirsty, ha.
Thank you & yes, me too :-)

Your friend came in from Buffalo? How far is it from there to Boston?
I'll be going to UB in the fall, and need some contact with a major city. (:

City Hall looks like its made of Lego, which maybe means the architect had the vision of a four year old... but I kind of like that it looks made from lego :P

I had never thought of it like that, but now that you say Lego, maybe I don't hate it as much!
